Lettered was created by founder Sheri to support students on their journey to academic excellence in English. Her ethos is nurturing tutoring that encourages curiosity, expression, collaboration, and the freedom to think, create and evolve to achieve academic success.
She’s passionate about guiding students to build confidence in their studies, enjoy their learning and achieve academic excellence and success. With over 20 years of experience in teaching English language, literature and admissions coaching, I’m proud to have helped students achieve their dreams of accepting places in top universities and reaching their academic goals.
About Me
Hello! I’m Sheri.
I love words and am passionate about bringing joy and curiosity into English learning. After years of teaching in a traditional setting, I wanted to create a tutoring space that nurtures, guides, and encourages expression and is accessible to curious students who feel lost in a crowded classroom.
I believe that literary learning is about critical thinking, authentic expression, open-hearted curiosity, and the freedom to think and grow. That’s when the magic happens, and students become connected to their learning and excel to achieve academic and life success.
Over the last 20 years, I’ve taught at some of the top independent schools and universities in the UK and the US and developed my skills in private tutoring and coaching, nurturing talent and enthusiasm for English language and literature.
The results speak for themselves; I’ve guided many students to help them attain their potential, achieving top grades or a place in their dream school or university.
My educational qualifications include a B.A., M.A., M.Phil., and Ph.D. in English Literature. I earned my M.Phil. from the University of Oxford and my doctorate from Royal Holloway, University of London. I am also an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
My learning journey saw me develop a deep passion for the English language and literature, and a desire to create a learning journey for teens and university students that sparks that same curiosity and love of the power of words through heart-centred tutoring that lets excellence shine through.
Whether students are struggling with a particular assignment, looking for regular subject tuition, or applying for school or university admission, I can help them gain the confidence and skills they need to reach their goals.
